Capital Region PRISM Priority Conservation Area List
(as of April 2020)

This list is used to rank invasive species in the Capital Region PRISM region into tiers which describe their abundance and what management strategy would be effective on them. Tier 5 are species of interest in which more research is needed in order to place them.

Prohibited species cannot be sold or purchased, while regulated species cannot be introduced into a free-living state.

​New York State's gateway to science-based invasive species information and best management practices. 
New York State Invasive Species Comprehensive Management Plan
The Department of Environmental Conservation and the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets (DAM), co-chairs of the Invasive Species Council, have adopted the final version of the Invasive Species Comprehensive Management Plan.  The overarching goal of the plan is to minimize the introduction, establishment and spread of invasive species throughout the State.
